Throughout the series, Urvi is torn between her family and following her dreams. She lies to her parents about dropping Specialist Maths and obsesses over a guy, 'Hot Ryan', who she meets at the school musical rehearsals, though boys are forbidden by her family. Meanwhile, Urvi’s younger sister Maya is accelerated and put on full scholarship at a posh rival private school: Heyington Girls Grammar.
