The level of international production activity in Australia is influenced by a range of factors inlcuding the Australian dollar, and government rebates and incentives. The overall trend for international spend in Australia, on both shoot and PDV-only titles, has been upwards, as has the proportion of total Australian expenditure.

In 2024/25, spend on international theatrical features shooting in Australia was $1.0 billion, more than double the previous year's result. International PDV-only spend was $150 million, down by 58% on 2023/24.
