Additional TV production funding rounds
Screen Australia’s TV drama production funding program, General Drama, will now include additional application rounds – bringing the total rounds per financial year from three to five.
Safe Harbour, Picnic at Hanging Rock and Pulse received production funding
With two of the now five rounds in 2017/18 having closed already, the next three rounds are slated to close for applications on 13 April, 8 June and 7 September 2018.
Although there will now be greater flexibility for applicants and less waiting time in between rounds, please note that the amount of TV drama production funds available has not increased.
“We encourage production companies and commissioning platforms to think strategically about what they plan to bring in for each round and to consult with Investment Managers before submitting applications,” said Screen Australia’s Head of Production Sally Caplan.
The General Drama program provides up to $2 million per application in production funding for telemovies and series that have a commissioning platform attached.
The additional rounds bring General Drama in line with the Children’s Programs and Feature Production funding programs’ rounds.
