Ada, in her gap year, must grapple with what the rest of her adult life is going to look like. Her mother doesn't encourage her dream of going to university, because it would distract from her dedication to following Jehovah's Witness religion. Remaining comfortable, keeping her genuine self from others, Ada cosplays, in secret for fear of being ostracized by society and her family. But her world gets turned upside down when her estranged cousin, Hazel, bursts into her life and teaches Ada about her Noongar culture.
