A woman, who was sexually assaulted and brutally bashed in her suburban home by a local teenager 14 years ago, is unable to recover. Her daughter, an Australian documentary filmmaker, returns to Johannesburg, city of her birth, in search of justice for her mother. When the police investigation bogs down, she takes matters into her own hands, seeking out and confronting the man identified by her mother as the attacker. What begins as a quest for justice becomes a revelation about the process of healing.
