The Screen Guide

The chaotic environment on earth thousands of millions of years ago would probably come close to man's image of hell - but these may have been just the conditions needed for the creation of life. Dr. Reanney visits the thermal area of Tikitiri (Maori for 'The Gates of Hell') in New Zealand, which recalls what the earth might have been like at the dawn of time - the extreme conditions necessary for the beginnings of life. The same conditions are also to be found in Central Australia.
