THE DIVORCE is a humorous, witty and complex 'soap opera'. Written specifically for the screen (not a filmed opera on stage), THE DIVORCE explores the universal themes of love, passion, regret, greed and longing. Think Revenge meets The Marriage of Figaro. THE DIVORCE rethinks the operatic art form for a contemporary audience through a playful, imaginative new approach to a very traditional art form. Iris and Jed, rich and urbane, are happily getting divorced and are throwing an elaborate party at their elegant home to celebrate. By the end of the evening, Iris and Jed’s divorce has triggered a re-negotiation of all certainties and as the sun rises, all of the characters are set on an unanticipated course.
