The Screen Guide

Harbinder and Sarvie are young Sikh-Australian girls, growing up in a traditional community of old-time resident Sikh banana farmers in the country town of Woolgoolga. Harbinder has an arranged marriage in India, and Sarvie is excommunicated from the community because of her marriage to Australian Gary. The community life is dominated by the Temple committee, but President Grewal's son Brian, is now a Christian-Pentacosta Priest. Looks at generational conflict from the point of view of young Australian-Indians.
