The Screen Guide

SHIPPERS is a love letter to fans who enjoy romance in their pop culture, but as a result are labelled as “hysterical”, “crazy”, or “pathetic”. The show highlights the struggles, shaming, and double standards fangirls endure compared to fanboys, using the niche sub-fandom of “shipping”. This comedy series follows ragey video editor AUBREY and peaceful YouTube reviewer TESE as they face the onslaught of comments and hate that comes with doing reaction videos online. It gets worse when a journalist posts a viral video labelling them as “scary stalker fans” and their lives go from sending out thirst tweets, to trolls tormenting and exposing everything about their personal lives online.
