The Screen Guide

A year in the life of the McBean family, who run the largest privately-owned cattle station in Australia. 'Bradshaw' covers ten thousand square kilometres (about the size of Belgium), and lies along the Victoria River at the Top End of the Northern Territory. The family are Ian, his wife Kay, and their two children - Sam (12) and Fiona (11). The program follows their life from Christmas to Christmas - an isolated life broken by the weekly arrival of the mail plane, and occasional visits to town for such events as the Katherine Show Rodeo and the Timber Creek Races. It is a way of life that will disappear as the large cattle stations are broken up into smaller operations.
