CRASH TEST MUMMIES AND DADDIES explores the contemporary Australian experience of parenting as four first-time parents undergo this life-changing event. The series follows the parents over the first four months of ‘nurture shock’ as their world is dominated by the birth of their first child, and explores the ramifications the baby has on the parents’ personal, physical and emotional lives. In the ‘confessional’ of separate mothers’ and fathers’ groups, the different sexes reveal their true feelings about themselves, their baby, their partner and the complex array of personal, social and political challenges that confront all new parents in 2014.
