Crusher the tough school footy hero visits Pete's house. Pete is anxious to present the right image to Crusher; clearing his room of soft toys, asking his mother not to kiss him and trying to keep his sister out of the way. When Crusher does come, he gets on famously with Pete's little sister Clare, which puzzles and confuses Pete. Pete soon finds out that Crusher doesn't play the stereotyped 'macho' role and enjoys being friendly to children.
