Margaret is a seasoned creative performance professional & one half of Jo ze Sparks, with 20+ years advancing Indigenous perspectives in the arts. Currently, a McKenzie Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Melbourne, she leads The Gubal Thayemin (Winds of Change) Project, which explores ancestral performance knowledge for climate adaptation. Margaret has directed & produced for theatre, film, & TV, including Woer Wayepa (CIAF) My Lover’s Bones, acclaimed at the Melbourne International Arts Festival. Holding a Ph.D. in Theatre Performance from Monash University, her research delves into Indigenous eco-womanist perspectives, mythology, & cultural protocols in the arts and environmental sectors.
