Kauthar Abdulalim is an Australian-Muslim director/producer who founded her own independent production company, Blacksand Pictures in 2019. Her productions include short film, ‘The Ninth Tower’ (2021) which premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival and is now streaming on SBS OnDemand, web series' #MATCHED (2022) and ‘Salma's Season’ (2022) that both received production investment from Screen Australia and VicScreen. Kauthar also worked as Impact Producer and Production Manager on documentaries ‘You See Monsters’ (ABC, 2017), ‘Our African Roots’ (SBS, 2021) and ‘Who the Bloody Hell Are We? (SBS, 2022).
