A Catholic boatman, living on a remote island off southeast Tasmania in 1928, falls in love with the Protestant lighthouse keeper's daughter while taking her family to church.
RETURN TO PORT DAVEY documents a trip made in the fishing boat Neptune, into the heart of Tasmania's World Heritage Wilderness, in the summer of 2001, with three retired crayfishermen. As well as exploring their reflections on the place, on wilderness and on crayfishing, the documentary also explores the story of European settlement and some of the characters that lived there.
