When an introverted teen loses his best friend at an abandoned theme park, he must step into a ghoulish neverland and discover how much he’ll risk to keep the friendship alive.
Fifteen-year-old Tara Webster has grown up on a farm in outback Australia and has dreamt of being a dancer ever since she was a little girl. When she makes it into the National Academy of Dance - the best school in the country - she is sure her life is about to be spectacular. What Tara doesn't realise is how far behind she is in her training, and that there's a whole lot more to surviving the Academy than just dancing.
Former ballet student, Tara Webster, was destined to become one of the top dancers of her generation before a devastating injury crippled her career. Over the last eighteen months she has tried to move on but cannot get over her dream of dancing professionally with the National Ballet Company. In her quest to defy the odds in a near impossible comeback, Tara leaves her life and love behind in Sydney and travels to New York, determined to prove she still has what it takes. But as the rejections pile up, and Tara tears herself apart trying to fit the unrelenting ballet mould, she must learn to find, and trust, her own voice before she loses everything that truly matters in the dogged pursuit of who she thought she was, rather than who she has become.
Tara returns to the National Academy of Dance with the goal of representing Australia in the world's most prestigious ballet competition. But perhaps she should be more focused on just surviving Second Year where having climbed to the top in her first year at the Academy - in dance, in life, in love - she now has a very long way to fall.
Tara and her friends are now seniors at the Academy and no one can forget for a second that the Company is watching. It will be a nail-biting chase to the finish line to see who will be offered a contract and finally achieve what they have been working towards for so long… and who will have to find a new dream...
An ambitious TV reporter and a 'difficult' female newsreader team up to conquer the world of commercial news.
A year on from the events of series one, we meet Helen Norville (Anna Torv) and Dale Jennings (Sam Reid), now established as ‘The Golden Couple of News’. To the outside world, they present a glowing image of success and romance. But the truth is more complex. As 1987 rolls along, global stocks will soar and crash, Australia will prepare to celebrate its Bicentennial year, and Helen and Dale grapple with who they really want to be in life – and whether that path can be together…
From the multi-award winning producers of Dance Academy and Redfern Now, comes READY FOR THIS, the 13-part story of six teenagers, all elite in within their own field, who have come to live at Arcadia House to pursue their dreams. For some it’s the opportunity of a lifetime, for others it’s a last chance. All are strangers, some a long way from home, and the last thing they expect to find is family.
In 1978, when the push to decriminalize homosexuality has stalled, a group of activists decide they must make one final attempt to celebrate who they are. Led by former union boss, Lance Gowland, they get a police permit and spread the word. On a freezing winter’s night, they cloak themselves in fancy dress, join hands and parade down Oxford Street. But they have no idea that angry police lie in wait, and the courage they find that night will finally mobilize the nation.
