Screen Australia announces over $5.2 million in Enterprise Funding

Screen Australia is pleased to announce over $5.2 million in funding for 18 Enterprise People opportunities and 18 Enterprise Business proposals.

Enterprise Business recipients Djali House and Kapwa

The Enterprise Business program supports screen businesses to create change, grow their business and build pathways to sustainability. Among the recipients are Ten4 Media, a Northern Territory based company specialising in observational documentaries that capture unique stories and landscapes; Fremantle company Artemis Media, renowned for their work in creating high-impact factual series such as Maggie Beer’s Big Mission and Who Do You Think You Are?; Torres Strait Islander First Nations company Lone Star dedicated to bringing scripted projects to a global audience; and Magpie Pictures from regional NSW who focus on authentic storytelling and are behind the acclaimed SBS series Swift Street.

The Enterprise People stream creates career defining development opportunities and supports placements for practitioners to escalate their screen careers. Amongst the recipients are Class of 07 creator Kacie Anning who will undertake a six-month placement with US company Paper Planes; Joshua Yasserie, a 2023 Fresh blood recipient who will embark on a 12-month placement with Studio Gilay who specialise in First Nations animation; and Ruby Davis who recently worked on Adam Elliot’s upcoming feature Memoir of a Snail and will undertake a 12-month placement with Arenamedia.

Screen Australia’s First Nations Department has invested $1 million into the program which will support four First Nations Business including Djali House, Lone Star Company, No Coincidence Media, and Pandamonium Films, and three practitioners including Travis Akbar, Isaac Cohen Lindsay and Joshua Yasserie.

Since launching in 2009, Screen Australia’s Enterprise program has supported more than 133 screen businesses and 136 individual creators, investing over $50 million in the program.

We're thrilled to support such a diverse range of businesses from across Australia, and placements that will provide crucial upskilling for local practitioners as they develop their careers here and all over the world.”
