Cleverman series 2: Call out for Indigenous talent
Six internships are available to emerging Indigenous screen practitioners.
Cleverman series 1
The highly anticipated second series of the ABC hit Cleverman is going into production soon and Screen Australia’s Indigenous Department, Goalpost Pictures and Screen NSW are looking for new and emerging Indigenous screen practitioners for six internships.
Applications can be made for, although are not limited to, the following departments:
- Art Department
- Make Up and Costume
- Sound Post
- 1st AD
- Production Office
The majority of production will take place in Sydney with a proposed start date in early September, and the paid internships will run for 8-10 weeks in duration. However, the Sound Post internship will take place in New Zealand.
“This is an exciting opportunity for new and emerging Indigenous crew and filmmakers,” Screen Australia Head of Indigenous Penny Smallacombe said.
“It was actually through an Indigenous attachment at Goalpost Pictures that creator Ryan Griffen began to develop Cleverman with producer Rosemary Blight. These attachments uncover Indigenous talent, giving them the hands-on experience to go further in their careers.”
Applications due by Thursday 18 August. Applicants must be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people.
