Applications Open for Skip Ahead 10

Screen Australia and YouTube Australia have opened applications for the tenth edition of Skip Ahead, a ground-breaking initiative for Australian YouTube creators to develop their storytelling skills, grow their creative ambitions and elevate their production value.

Skip Ahead projects Life of Kea and Rebooted

Since 2014, Skip Ahead has supported 41 teams with over $5.2 million, helping them develop their skills and build sustainable careers on YouTube and beyond. Past recipients include Lyanna Kea (4.6M subscribers), Never Too Small (2.9M subscribers), timtimfed’s Michael Shanks (204K subscribers), Rainbow Bop (48K subscribers), Tibees aka Toby Hendy (1.29M), and RackaRacka’s Danny and Michael Philippou (6.8M subscribers).

Applications are open to content creators who meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • a current YouTube channel with at least 25,000 subscribers
  • a maximum of two current YouTube channels with a combined subscriber base of 40,000
  • a YouTube video that has amassed a minimum of 1 million views with a subscriber base of at least 10,000.

Successful applicants will participate in a workshop taking place in Sydney in August 2025 and receive ongoing skills and development support, in addition to production funding up to $120,000 for their project. For teams based outside of Sydney, travel and accommodation support will be provided for up to three team members per project from within Australia.
