SXSW Sydney is a week-long conference of ideas exploring the trends and issues influencing screen, games, music and tech, and features changemakers and creatives from across the globe. From unpacking the cathartic potential of gaming, exploring First Nations stories, to discovering new Australian film and game makers, check out some of the talks and sessions featuring Screen Australia-funded titles or staff appearing at SXSW Sydney.

This year's Screen Festival showcases a selection of features and shorts from Australian filmmakers, including straight from TIFF Thou Shalt Not Steal, advance preview of sports-drama Plum, and special Q&A screenings of The Most Australian Band Ever! and Audrey

  • Screen Commentary series - Thursday 17 – Saturday 19 October 

Featuring live director’s commentary with Warwick Thornton and behind-the-score insight from composer and director Jed Kurzel, gain insight to the creative process from critically acclaimed creatives and titles.  

  • Games Festival Showcases - Thursday 17 October – Sunday 20 October 

All access and industry only sessions to showcase the upcoming games from around the world at four days of demos and showcases.
