The Causeway Forward (Causeway Films)
Kristina Ceyton Producer
Kristina Ceyton produced the critically acclaimed, award-winning psychological thriller The Babadook that premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews and significant international sales. The film went on to screen at numerous prestigious festivals worldwide, winning Best Film and Best Actress Awards among them. Other producing credits include award-winning shorts Small Boxes (2006) and The Ground Beneath (2008). Both films have received great international success, winning over 40 awards collectively. The Ground Beneath was short-listed for nomination for the 2010 Academy Award as Best Live Action Short. Kristina associate-produced the Australian feature Newcastle (2008), and is developing a select slate of features, including Cartagena by Nam Le (based on the short story from his award winning collection The Boat), the feature version of YouTube sensation and Tropfest Finalist short Cargo in collaboration with US producer Russell Ackerman (Mama), and This Dark Wood with Jonathan Auf Der Heide (Van Diemen’s Land). In 2014 Kristina completed a six-month placement with top US sales agent and development and production company Filmnation in Los Angeles, supported by Screen Australia’s Talent Escalator Program. Her company, Causeway Films, was awarded the 2014/2015 Screen Australia Feature Enterprise grant.
Sam Jennings Producer
Sam Jennings has held numerous senior positions at Australian screen agencies including Development Executive at Screen Australia, and Development & Production Executive at Screen NSW, overseeing projects including The Sapphires, The Dressmaker, The Rocket and TV series The Moodys and Redfern Now. She has been a script advisor to agencies, producers and companies across Australia such as Porchlight, Revolver, Werner and Goalpost, with Script Editor credits on upcoming features Dance Academy The Movie, Jasper Jones and Emo The Musical. Sam produced Deluge (Winner Jury Prize Clermont-Ferrand, SOYA Award, sold to ARTE), short animation Father (ATOM Award, Tribeca, SBS), documentary Big All At Once (SBS, Ronin Films) and short feature So Close To Home starring Kerry Fox (Winner CRC Dendy Award) and directed by Jessica Hobbs (Love My Way, The Slap, Puberty Blues). In 2014 Sam joined forces with Kristina Ceyton as partner in Causeway Films, later awarded a Screen Australia Feature Enterprise grant to develop a slate of original features and high-end TV projects with international partners.
