Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is one of the premier events of the festival and market circuit.

Background

It is renowned for its enthusiastic audiences, curatorial excellence, and as a platform into the North American marketplace. Each September, over 5,500 leading industry professionals converge on Toronto to promote, finance, buy, and sell films - both in and out of Official Selection. TIFF has proven an ideal environment to showcase independent films, ensuring they have the best possible opportunity to be seen and appreciated by decision-makers and audiences.

TIFF Filmmaker Lab

TIFF Filmmaker Lab brings together some of the world’s most promising filmmaking talent during the Toronto International Film Festival in September. Over a four-day period, selected participants learn from internationally acclaimed filmmakers and guests, deepening their industry understanding and empowering them to move forward with their projects. This program is open to emerging filmmakers with a minimum of two short-film credits and a maximum of one feature-film credit as a director or screenwriter. Visit the TIFF website to find out about deadlines and how to apply.

International Financing Forum (IFF)

IFF is a feature film co-financing event at the Toronto International Film Festival that brings together selected international and Canadian producers developing English language projects to do business in a relaxed atmosphere of brokered meetings and networking opportunities with international sales agents, distributors, funders, agents, and executive producers. To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum of one full producer credit on a theatrically released feature, and one or two market-oriented co-productions in development that require international financing partners. Producers with executive producer, co-producer or associate producer credits only are not eligible. Visit the IFF website to find out about deadlines and how to apply.
