Unsurprisingly, VOD users aged under 35 are more likely to watch professionally produced screen content via social media platforms than those aged 35 and above. YouTube and Facebook dominate viewing from both age groups.
Some viewers, particularly some under 35s, are accessing content on platforms that are yet to commission original productions, such as Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter.
Roughly a quarter of younger and older VOD viewers are active on social platforms, but don’t yet use those platforms to watch screen content.
