Inspired by real events, SWEET COUNTRY 2 is a period western and a sequel to the award winning 2018 film Sweet Country. Like the original, it is set in the Central Australian outback near Alice Springs, in the Northern Territory, in the early 1930’s The sequel focuses on Philomac, the boy in Sweet Country who works on Mick Kennedy’s cattle station, it’s now three years later and the story follows Philomac’s adventures on his journey across the outback, after he escapes from Kennedy’s property to search for his Mother on the mining fields, north east of the town of Henry. On his journey, Philomac hooks up with two children Max and the Kid, who themselves are escaping the cruelty of the Wolfram mining fields. Kennedy links up with some old mates from the great war and they chase Philomac through the desert in a knife edge game of cat and mouse. Leaving us hoping Philomac will elude his pursuers and find his family and his mother …
