Screen Australia Launches Advanced Workshop for Intimacy Coordinators

Screen Australia is excited to announce a new initiative to enhance the skills and knowledge of experienced Intimacy Coordinators (ICs) working within the Australian screen industry.

Erotic Stories and Intimacy Coordinator Samantha Murray

This exclusive three-day Advanced Workshop for Intimacy Coordinators will take place in Sydney from 7 – 9 December 2024.

Facilitated by Australian IC Samantha Murray from Safe Sets (UK, EU and SA), the workshop is designed for established IC professionals actively engaged in the screen industry. With a growing demand for more extensive and nuanced approaches to intimate content, this program will offer a unique opportunity for up to 20 Australian Screen ICs to engage in intensive, internationally informed professional development.

Aims:

Since the introduction of the Intimacy Coordinator role, the Australian screen industry has evolved significantly. ICs are now expected to navigate increasingly complex demands on both national and international productions. This immersive workshop will:

  • Address Global Protocols: Enhance understanding of global standards and expectations for shooting intimate scenes.
  • Bridge Gaps: Connect varying approaches across Australian IC practices.
  • Develop Advanced Skills: Build on practical skills and knowledge tailored to the latest industry advancements.
  • Strengthen Industry Relationships: Foster connections within the local Australian screen community.

The workshop will feature expert-led sessions, hands-on exercises, and peer-to-peer exchange – all designed to elevate and further support the practice of ICs and ensure they are well-prepared to meet the evolving needs of the screen industry.
