The Screen Guide

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the birth of television in Australia. What have been the images of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on our television screens during this time? What story has been told and from whose perspective? We look at the television being made about Aboriginal people by non-Aboriginal people and the birth of the Aboriginal Programs Unit within the ABC producing programs such as 'Blackout' through to 'Message Stick'.
