Talent USA: New York – Hannah Carroll Chapman
Creator and writer of Heartbreak High, Hannah Carroll Chapman shares her experience as a delegate of the Talent USA: New York program.
Held in New York during the week of the Australian International Screen Forum, Screen Australia’s Talent USA: New York program supports emerging screen professionals to attend, with the aim of forging key partnerships with global creatives.
Hannah Carroll Chapman was one of the 2024 delegates to participate in the program, and apart from meeting comedy legend Steve Martin —the chance to network and learn more about the American screen industry was invaluable. One of her key objectives was to meet with US agents and managers – the result of which was very positive.
“I’ve exited that process with an American manager and agent, which is pretty awesome,” Carroll Chapman reveals. “I also wanted to sound out whether some of my projects would be appropriate to pitch over in America, as like, something that could potentially be made over here but with American help.”
In this video interview, Carroll Chapman talks about the benefits of the program, the many US executives who spoke at the Forum and imparts advice to anyone wishing to apply for the program in the future.
