Emerging Writers’ Incubator 2022: Expressions of interest for host production companies

Screen Australia is seeking expressions of interest from production companies to take part in the second year of placements for the Emerging Writers’ Incubator.

Under the program, now in its second year of three years, six successful writers from backgrounds and with lived experiences currently underrepresented in the sector will be employed for 12 months in six production companies around the country, with the next placements commencing from July 2022.

The production companies will each receive up to $80,000 to cover the salary for the writer, and are expected to facilitate opportunities and support the writer to perform and develop their skills.

The Emerging Writers’ Incubator is run in partnership with SBS, Screen NSW, Screen Canberra, Screen Queensland, Screenwest, Film Victoria and the South Australian Film Corporation, and with the assistance of the Australian Writers’ Guild.
